How does it work?
The genetic factors that determine androgenic alopecia are mostly associated with a variant in the Androgen Receptor (AR) gene located on the X chromosome, which is inherited exclusively through the maternal line in men and through both maternal and paternal lines in women. The genetic test performs a series of tests on this gene, determining the predisposition to baldness in the person who performs it.
The test is performed by collecting saliva, which is analyzed by a specialized laboratory. The results are available 30 days later and determine whether the risk is low, medium, or high.
